Today, Celtics player Jay Brown and the team renewed their contract in advance for $0.304 billion in five years. At the press conference, Jay Lun talked about making money to give back to Boston’s community.
He said: “When I first confirmed this contract, the first thing I thought of was, ‘Oh my God, look at what can be done with it now. For example, how much you can invest in your community, what you can build with it, what you can change, and how many lives you can touch. So my current pressure is that now I have to build something suitable and memorable to achieve the significance of this astronomical contract, but I am very happy to do so.”
“I want to start a project to bring Black Wall Street to Boston. I want to solve the gap between rich and poor here. I think some analysis shows that solving the gap between rich and poor may actually benefit the improvement of the whole economy. I think through my platform, through influential partners, through selected leaders and government officials, many of them are in this room, we can cooperate, creating new jobs, new resources, new businesses and new ideas can focus on helping minority groups and stimulating economic development and solving the gap between rich and poor.”
“I think this may include commercial entities, real estate, residential and other fields. Boston can become a fully integrated self-sufficient hub to solve the problems of ethnic minorities and the gap between rich and poor. I think Boston can become a pilot, not only the gap between the rich and the poor in the United States, but also the problem around the world.”
